A message from our CEO

We can’t believe it’s already been a year since we announced our acquisition of services in Southern Illinois. Since then, EP!C has continued to grow and expand to provide supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Speaking of expanding, with 2020 officially here, EP!C will spend the next year celebrating our 70th Anniversary! What started as services for 10 children has grown to serve over 12 counties in the state of Illinois. Over this next year we will tell EP!C stories of our past, or present and our future.

Whether making a special anniversary donation, or attending our Birthday Bash in September, we hope you will join us and be engaged in this very special year.

Over this next year we will tell EP!C stories of our past, present, and future.

What’s your EP!C story?

Giving Tree

An EP!C Thank YOU to our holiday elves who participated in Giving Tree this past holiday season! These merry-makers bought gifts for our folks in the group homes and our programs, helped wrap and sort them for delivery by our maintenance staff. Each year we are thankful for the giving spirit everyone contributes to this program to ensure that our folks have the merriest holiday season possible!

Sensory Room

Thanks for grants from the Morton Community Foundation and the Rotary Club of Peoria EP!C now has a sensory room at our Townline facility. This room utilizes sensory therapy and includes elements like a crash pad, weighted blankets, lava lamp, white noise machine, wall projector, bubble tube, sensory box, liquid tiles and more. Everything in the space was carefully chosen and placed so that individuals can relax and engage in calming techniques allowing them to better enjoy their environment.

EP!C Employees

Sheryl Martin was named our Employee of the Month for November. Sheryl often wears many hats including running our print shop and mailing services where we work on jobs for many local customers. Her nominator said, “Sheryl remained positive with the challenges of learning a new printing system and machine.”

December’s Employee of the Month was Pat Thomas. Her team nominated her because “she always goes the extra mile to make sure our people supported are going well in their jobs. She empowers each individual to be their best self while treating them with the respect they deserve.”
