CEO Message
I continue to meet with legislators to drive home the importance of their support in continuing to invest in people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The state of Illinois barely reaches the basic standards, ranking 47th in the nation.
75 years ago this next year, it was parents and families who led that charge. The importance of the role families play today has not changed. We rely on families to remain engaged or encourage you to become engaged so that we can be the best voice for you and your loved ones. We’ve recently recharged our advocacy group, hosting one meeting last year and gearing up for another in October. EP!C Harvest
EP!CASSO
EP!Casso artists along with artists from CWTC were recently invited to participate in a new art exhibition at the Foster Gallery located at the First United Methodist Church in Peoria. The exhibition entitled “Layers of Creativity” showcases 21 EP!Casso artists, who created 15 pieces, across 3 mediums. Art Coordinator Alan Atkins chose pieces that represented the theme with layers of colors, textures, and patterns, along with layers of talents as some pieces involved multiple artists.
The Foster Gallery held a reception for artists and the public during the September First Friday. You can see the show through September 25th during open hours.

Leaving an EP!C Legacy!
National Estate Awareness Week is October 17 – 23, 2023! This is the perfect time to start thinking about your plans. Through proper planning, the legacy of love and care that you leave for your family and friends can be encouraging and even inspiring.

July Employee of the Month
Dylan is part of our Community Options team, helping residents in our Host Homes program. He was nominated because “he creates stability and a safe space for people supported. Dylan is a good, friendly role model, building meaningful relationships with people. He’s always positive and reassures Host Home Providers that we have a strong team with a solid foundation.”
Dylan even unexpectedly jumped in front of the camera to help someone during an interview for our marketing team, something most staff shy away from.
