Looking Forward to Fall Classes 2025

All classes are held on ICC’s Peoria & Pekin Campuses and are taught by an EP!C Instructor. Courses are for students age 16 and older. Classes are designed to promote capabilities and empower students to understand their way of learning. At the end of the course, students will receive a certificate from EP!C.

Not all classes are offered every semester. Course availability is based on Illinois Central College’s current schedule and offerings.

Pre-Employment

Learn Skills for Pre-Employment

The purpose of this class is to prepare the student for the workforce with basic skills. In this 12-week course participants will learn how to job hunt using different methods, develop communication skills, learn the parts of an application and practice filling them out, interview basics and practice, safety in the workplace, hygiene, and dressing for work, social skills, criticism workshop, and includes completing a resume.

Agriculture

Learn Skills for Employment in the field of Agriculture

By the end of the 12-week course participants will learn basic crop growing and animal care. Learn about farming rules, safety, maintenance, planting/germination, harvesting, animal health and care. 10 weeks of in class education will be followed by 4 sessions of individually scheduled hands-on experience.

Floral Design

Learn Skills for Horticulture Employment

In this 12-week course participants will learn important principles of floral design. Learn to identify different types of flowers and greens, identify and use common tools and materials, learn the step-by-step creation of floral bows, and practice the creation of 1 floral design from start to finish. 10 weeks of in-class education will be followed by 4 sessions of individually scheduled hands-on experience.

Customer Service

Learn Skills for Basic Professionalism

During this 12-week course participants will explore the essential skills needed to succeed in the customer service field, examine the importance of effective communication and body language during the customer experience, maintain great customer relationships, and develop customer service problem-solving skills. 10 weeks of in class education will be followed by 4 sessions of individually scheduled hands-on experience.

Custodial

Learn Skills for entry-level maintenance and janitorial jobs

This 12-week course will provide students with the knowledge and hands-on training needed to apply for entry-level maintenance and janitorial jobs. Students will learn and have practice with the use of common custodial tools, specific cleaning processes, and safety protocols for various building areas.10 weeks of in class education will be followed by 4 sessions of individually scheduled hands-on experience.

Culinary

Learn Skills for Culinary Employment

By the end of the 12-week course, participants will gain basic cooking skills, learn kitchen safety skills, nutrition information, food prep, learn to follow a recipe, learn to make grocery lists, and read labels. Participants will explore industry careers, participate in a field trip, and apply for their food handler’s permit.

Self-Advocacy

Learn Skills for Taking Charge of Your Future

In this course, students will dive into the world of self-advocacy. We will talk about what makes you unique, learn about disability rights, and topics including how to boost confidence, and identify strengths and weaknesses.

Executive Functioning

Learn Skills for Defining and Achieving Goals

In this course, students will learn organizational skills. planning, time management, task initiation, project planning, and enhancement of communication skills.
