EP!C Career Center
EP!C Career Center provides training and assistance for individuals with cognitive differences looking to prepare themselves for the workforce or seeking additional support in their current job seeking journey. The center also allows for accessible recreation use for someone who may not have access to adaptive technology in their home.
Personalized Career Coaching
• Initial Assessment: Understand your skills, interests, strengths, and challenges using personality assessments, skill tests, and career interest surveys
• Individualized Career Plans: Tailored career pathways that outline steps to achieve professional goals
• Coaching Sessions: Ongoing support, including resume building, interview preparation, job search strategies, and personal branding
• Job Readiness Workshops: Focus on communication skills, workplace etiquette, and managing challenges in a work environment
Skills Development & Training
• Job-Specific Training: Workshops that focus on specific skills using the PAES® Lab that improve employability
• Soft Skills Development: Communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and stress management
• Mentorship Programs: Pair job seekers with mentors offering guidance and advice throughout the job search and employment journey
Community & Peer Support
• Support Groups: Peer-led support groups to share experiences, challenges, and strategies for success
• Networking Opportunities: Spaces for individuals with disabilities to meet, connect, and collaborate with other job seekers, mentors, and professionals
• Advocacy: Advocating for your rights, including navigating workplace discrimination, harassment, or unequal treatment
Job Placement Assistance
• Job Matching: Pairing job seekers with employers who have openings that align with the candidate’s skills, interests, and accommodation needs
• Job Search Tools: Access to job boards, career fairs, and networking events that specifically cater to people with disabilities
• Interview Support: Help with preparing for interviews, mock interviews, role-playing, and tips on disclosing a disability if appropriate
• Job Trials/Internships: Partnering with companies to offer trial periods, internships, or work experiences that allow job seekers to gain practical skills and employers to evaluate potential hires
PAES® Lab
The EP!C Career Center includes access to the Practical Assessment Exploration System or PAES® Lab.
This program provides valuable training, practice, and assessment of a job seeker’s interests and talents. Students will know what their skills are and where they may need to focus. Through the program, they will develop proper work behaviors needed on the job and gain an understanding of what careers they may excel at.
Job seekers can then share their results with potential employers, strengthening their resume with real results.
