Thanks to a great partnership with the Peoria Health Department and Advanced Medical Transport, almost 200 individuals in our residential programs received the COVID vaccine.
There are only a few individuals that are waiting as more doses become available. Where people with disabilities in other states are being pushed down on priority lists or not included in plans at all, we are thankful that our communities see the value of the people we support. We remain hopeful and patient as doses become available to the public so more of our staff and our friends living at home can be protected, allowing us to get back to seeing each other in person.
It’s time for our 10th Annual Bon Appétit signature event! We still aren’t ready to fully be together, so this year’s hybrid event will allow guests to participate based on their comfort levels. We’ve partnered with local restaurants to provide delectable dishes to enjoy individually at home or in small House Party groups of 10 or less. And for those not looking for the full event experience, we are bringing the party to you with a cheers kit that still allows you to celebrate with us. I personally invite you to join us for a one-of-a-kind evening celebrating 10 years of Bon Appétit and 70 years of EP!C.

We hope you have been following our social media and getting invested in the EP!C story through our Throwback Thursday posts. We have had four installments of a short series we call “Diversity in Disability: The Faces of EP!C”.
Disabilities don’t discriminate against race, religion, gender, age, or sexual orientation. They show up in ways that are physical and ways that are hidden. They show up in ways that are subtle and ways that are quite obvious.
For 70 years we have refused to see a diagnosis as an identity. Society has a long way to go, but we are seeing more acceptance every day. Until then, we will keep working for a world where people with disabilities are accepted, respected, and engaged in their communities.
